Vehicle Fleet

A bus acquisition and procurement fee was approved and implemented by students for the 2007-08 academic year. As a result of this new fee, $21 per semester per student, KU has purchased 42 heavy-duty transit coaches; 9 new and 33 used. The 5 Optima buses were purchased in a joint agreement between KU, the City of Lawrence, the Kansas Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration.
